Dresser
I spent the last week refinishing a dresser. I didn’t think it would take that long, but here we are seven days later! This dresser apparently has been around for some time. I had it in my room as a kid, my sister before me. My parents before both of us and I guess it started life as my Dad’s when he was a kid. So we are talking about 50 years of life. It was white, with pretty blah white knobs on it.
Tomi wanted a new dresser, so we looked at Ikea, but everything that we liked was just a bit too much and me, ever being the do it yourselfer, suggested refinishing the one we had. I stripped the two layers of paint and one layer of varnish off of it. Sanded the whole thing down, stained it and replaced the knobs. The color we chose was Red Cedar and chose some antiqued iron knobs.
I didn’t think to take any pictures of it before I started, but here is the finished product:

I think it looks pretty darn good.
